New Upload - Artefacts From Private Collection.

Recently acquired private collection from France. The majority of items are related to Free French, French Resistance, SOE, Escape & Evasion. Note, several items are claimed to be related to the Rey's who appear to have been farmers/farm workers from the Neuvy-Grandshamp region and had connection to the resistance group in Lyon. Unfortunately this information has come from 2nd generation.  read more

WW2 Early 1938 Helmet with Hessian Cover 1936

WW2 Early 1938 Helmet with Hessian Cover 1936

An early British MkII Helmet complete with field made hessian cover made from a French sack stamped SAINT FRIERS 1936. The helmet is in great condition retaining all its factory paint internally. The lugs are stamped 1938 whilst the Mk1 liner is stamped VERO 7 1938. I acquired this helmet whilst in France and can only 'assume' it would have belonged to a member of the BEF.  read more

WW2 Macleans Dentifrice with Concealed Escape Compass

WW2 Macleans Dentifrice with Concealed Escape Compass

On the surface this is simply just a tin of Macleans peroxide solid dentifrice. However cunningly concealed within the cake of dentifrice is a standard RAF escape compass. The compass is revealed after removing the protective cellophane and looking at the bottom - some of the dentrifice has been scrapped away to reveal the compass hidden within.  read more
